In a world where people collect pocket-size monsters (Pokémon) to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent monster who seeks to be a detective. Tim Goodman travels to Ryme City to settle the affairs of his late father. There, he meets an intelligent talking Pokemon, a Pikachu, and soon teams up with it to solve his father's last case.
